There was a better-than-expected show this evening, with a high arc visible after 20:30 and turning into a pretty strong and active aurora over the following hour with some active dancing curtains and pinks to the naked eye. The activity was generally pretty low in the north, but we had some weak movement directly overhead too. See image captions below for more information.
Image 1. 21:04 UTC. Settings = f/2.8, 14 mm, 4.5 sec. The aurora was bright enough to outcompete the full moon!
Image 2. 21:09 UTC. Settings = f/2.8, 14 mm, 7.4 sec. The bright moonlight really lifted the foreground.
